West End Girl – London Night Shoot Workshop

Another great night in London with Amy and a group of photographers shooting in London’s West End for our London night shoot workshop.

A mixture of ambient and mixed ambient with flash was planned and through the evening, working on and off tripods.

I managed to grab a few on this second date as well. I constrained myself to a Helios 44/2 Russian lens on the X-T3 shooting handheld for all of these. Not bad for a sub £20 f/2 portrait lens. Amy was fab as usual.

A huge amount of window display lights used for Amy’s face produced very bright conditions for this bokeh shot. Yes there are in excess of 20 highlights in her eyes!
ISO 250 – f/2 – 1/125sec

A test shot that I ended keeping as it worked quite well with Amy off guard.
The Helios is susceptible to huge amounts of flare and halation that can be used for effect.
